Job description

The Mac Product Design team is seeking a Product Design Engineer who will leverage creativity and attention to detail to solve design challenges for portable and desktop computers. This role involves collaborating with various teams to integrate technology into innovative products that enhance customer experiences. The engineer will ideate concepts, prototype, and test designs while ensuring they meet manufacturing requirements. Additionally, the position requires travel to assembly sites in Asia to support factory builds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering role
  • Experience in consumer electronic design
  • Experience in designing for mass production
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with industrial designers and technology groups to refine product designs.
  • Develop initial product layouts and generate concepts for prototyping.
  • Partner with external vendors and internal manufacturing teams to optimize designs.
  • Perform stress, tolerance, and failure analysis to ensure design requirements are met.
  • Travel up to 20% in Asia to support factory builds.
