Job description

This role at Apple focuses on developing innovative systems that have never been created before. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, build, and validate new prototype systems. The position requires a strong background in electrical engineering and the ability to lead initiatives while managing and guiding team members. The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment of uncertainty and be skilled in coordinating across various organizations.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of industry experience in electrical engineering
  • Experience designing analog and digital circuits
  • Familiarity with systems that include sensitive analog/mixed-signal circuits, FPGAs, and embedded microcontrollers
  • Experience with various schematic capture tools, such as Eagle, Altium, or Cadence
  • Experience with circuit simulation tools, such as Hspice, LTspice, or Spectre
  • Skilled with PCB layout on complex multi-layer boards
  • Experience working with multiple cross-functional teams to balance design tradeoffs
  • Experience with standard lab equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers
  • Exposure to various system modeling and simulation tools, such as ANSYS, Verilog A/MS, Simulink, and COMSOL

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering initiatives by example and adapt to the unique needs of the program.
  • Work with cross-functional engineering teams to define new prototype systems.
  • Design electronics that implement new systems and validate their performance.
  • Manage individuals and guide their work and growth as appropriate.
  • Take systems through a full development cycle, including architecture, design, fabrication, bring-up, debugging, and characterization.
  • Support factory builds and scale from hand-built prototypes to thousands of units.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
