Job description

In this lead role within Softgoods Engineering at Apple, you will leverage your design experience to define architectures and develop innovative Softgoods products. The team focuses on integrating textiles and soft polymers into Apple's product lines, enhancing functionality and aesthetics. You will collaborate with a diverse group of creative thinkers in customized labs to tackle the unique challenges of soft materials. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and the ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 7+ years of product design experience with extensive CAD experience
  • MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 12+ years of product design experience with NX software
  • Previous experience in Softgoods and/or wearables product design
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Define Softgoods architectures for new product designs
  • Design, develop, and ship Softgoods products that delight customers
  • Integrate electrical and mechanical components into Softgoods
  • Collaborate with team members to learn and apply new materials and processes
  • Present technical concepts to a multi-disciplinary team
