Apple's Display Technologies group is seeking Mechanical Engineers to design and develop innovative display modules for future products. The role focuses on creating next-generation technologies and integrating them into robust display designs. Candidates should possess a strong curiosity and understanding of consumer electronics and mechanical design. The position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and requires a passion for engineering excellence.

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of three years of experience.
• Experience in mechanical engineering fundamentals including properties of materials, solid mechanics, beam statics, Newtonian physics, and thermodynamics.
• Experience with mechanical design and validation.
• 3D/2D software experience in 3D modeling such as Pro/E, NX, CATIA, or Solidworks.
• Exposure to diverse manufacturing techniques such as injection-molding, sheet-metal stamping, and 3D printing.
• Experience with simulation and analysis such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
• Familiarity with Six Sigma methodology and capable of large data set analysis using JMP, MATLAB, or Minitab.
• Experience in electro-mechanical design and/or manufacturing for high-volume products.
• Excellent prioritization, cross-functional collaboration, and written and verbal communication skills.
• High energy personality with a passion for learning and attention to detail.
• Experience with the development of component or material evaluation tests.
• Experience in the Applied Design of Experiments (DOE) and scientific method.
• Experience creating engineering drawings and understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Good understanding of Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).

• Design display components based on optical, electrical, mechanical, and other cross-functional requirements.
• Achieve system goals through mechanical design optimization, prototyping, and new material qualification.
• Define and implement validation plans for mechanical engineering characteristics of display modules.
• Act as a focal point among multiple cross-functional teams and suppliers to identify and resolve open issues.
• Evaluate state-of-the-art mechanical designs and innovate ways to improve Apple display performance.
• Travel internationally approximately 15% of the time, primarily to Asia.
