The Human Engineering Human Factors team at Apple focuses on conducting mixed-methods user research to create actionable insights that inform product design and development. Ideal candidates are passionate user advocates with technical skills in quantitative log collection and user interaction analysis. The team works closely with design, engineering, and product development groups to enhance user experiences.
Requirements
- 4+ years of industry experience in Human Factors or User Experience Research
- Master's degree or higher with a concentration in human factors, industrial engineering, cognitive engineering, human-computer interaction, or experimental psychology
- Expertise in creating thorough experimental designs using scientific methods
- Experience with scripting/programming for data manipulation and research applications, such as R, Matlab, or Python
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail and aesthetic sensibility
Responsibilities
- Apply Human Factors Engineering techniques and principles at all phases of product development
- Exercise independent judgment in developing study methodology, data collection efforts, and design recommendations
- Develop user study criteria and detailed methodology for various projects, spanning formative to evaluative research
- Conduct user-centered research and evaluation on diverse user populations using experimental data and scientific publications
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, engineering, and product development teams
- Maintain an active working knowledge of worldwide human factors publications and standards
