Job description
The role is for a software engineer on Apple's Cocoa 2D Graphics team, focusing on core technologies for macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS. The team is responsible for system-level frameworks such as CoreGraphics and ImageIO, aiming to enhance the customer experience across Apple platforms. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and proactive, with strong technical and programming skills. The position involves improving security and performance of graphics frameworks while collaborating with various teams.
Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of programming languages C, C++, and/or Objective-C.
- Strong understanding of graphics APIs and familiarity with CoreGraphics, UIKit, and AppKit APIs.
- Ability to improve the security and robustness of graphics frameworks.
- Deep understanding of system-level concepts, including multi-threaded design and synchronization.
- Strong low-level debugging abilities and knowledge of Swift are a plus.
- Familiarity with image container formats, pixel formats, colorspace management, and HDR imaging flows.
- Experience with CPU-based graphics and imaging algorithms and techniques.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
