Job description
The Apple Watch hardware engineering team is looking for an experienced electrical engineer to tackle system integration and design challenges as new features and technologies are integrated into the product. The role involves collaborating with a passionate team of hardware engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions. Candidates should have a strong foundation in electrical engineering and a desire to understand the intricacies of hardware design. Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- 3-5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Excellent fundamentals in electrical engineering and physics.
- Strong understanding of system integration, power electronics, and embedded device communication.
- Hands-on experience with common EE test equipment.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout design using Cadence tools.
- 5+ years of experience designing hardware for mass-produced consumer products.
- 2+ years of experience in a technical lead capacity.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve multi-domain problems.
- Experience with bringup and validation of custom SoCs or other silicon.
- Technical understanding of IC design, CPU architecture, or RF design.
- Ability to manipulate large data sets for insightful analysis.
- Experience leveraging AI tools in hardware engineering workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, build, and validate electrical designs throughout the product development cycle.
- Conduct system electrical design, schematic capture, and PCB layout design.
- Perform prototype bringup and debugging.
- Verify the functionality and performance of hardware designs using common EE test equipment.
- Conduct hands-on debugging and failure analysis of manufacturing and design issues.
- Support factory builds from early NPI through to production.
- Report on and present the status of hardware issues to management and cross-functional forums.
- Travel internationally to support factory builds as needed.
