Job description
As a Software Engineer (Tools) at Apple, you will shape the future of software development by building tools for developers worldwide. You will be part of the Engagement Engineering team, focusing on GenAI coding and productivity tooling. This role involves integrating large language models and AI-assisted workflows into Apple's software development ecosystem. You will work closely with end users and product teams to refine AI tool experiences based on user needs.
Requirements
- 6+ years of industry experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Experience in modern scripting or compiled languages such as Python, Swift, or C/C++
- Understanding of large language models and AI-assisted development tools
- Familiarity with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or AI coding assistants
- Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into developer-facing tools or workflows
- Experience with SDK or framework development used by other developers
- Experience with reliable, scalable, distributed systems
- Strong communication skills to engage with customers and collaborate with teams
Responsibilities
- Build tools used by developers to enhance software development processes
- Contribute to the development of AI-assisted workflows and technologies
- Refine user requirements and prototype new solutions from scratch
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to improve developer productivity
- Drive engagement efforts across the wider Software organization
