Job description

The Silicon Validation team is seeking passionate individuals to validate the functional behavior of Apple's next generation SoCs. This role involves working with a diverse team of embedded software engineers to conduct system-level validation. Candidates will dive deep into SoC architecture and become specialists in the SiVal software stack. The focus is on creating innovative testing strategies for various stress and corner-case scenarios.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 0 years of experience.
  • Strong software skills in C/C++.
  • Familiarity with programming in assembly language.
  • Passionate about writing code close to the hardware and debugging.
  • Familiarity with computer architecture, memory hierarchies, CPUs, and caching.
  • Experience in writing code, developing tests, and coming up with strategies for SoC silicon validation is a huge plus.
  • Experience in graphics, video codecs, video capture, display mechanisms, and storage technologies is ideal.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, or Perl is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive system-level validation of Apple SoCs.
  • Validate functional behavior and interactions between different IP blocks in the SoC.
  • Develop creative testing strategies for various stress and corner-case scenarios.
  • Become a specialist in the existing SiVal software stack.
  • Collaborate with a team of subject matter experts in embedded software engineering.
