Job description
The role involves working within the Battery Engineering group to develop innovative battery solutions that maximize energy efficiency in compact designs. The NPI Mechanical/Product Design resource will oversee module development from initial architecture to ramp-up. The position requires collaboration with various product development teams at Apple to enhance battery technology and improve customer experiences. The focus is on mechanical design and integration of battery packs into Apple products.
Requirements
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field
- Experience with 3D CAD
- 3 years of relevant industry experience
- Master's degree or equivalent job-related experience in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Ability to generate innovative designs with multi-functional teams
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly, or statistical tolerance analysis techniques
- Clear and concise communication skills for technical project status
- Demonstrated ability to deliver to product timelines
- Experience in design cycle from concept through MP with high-volume manufacturing processes and/or automation
Responsibilities
- Design a battery pack while optimizing collaboration with outside vendors and internal experts.
- Lead the end-to-end mechanical development and integration of innovative modules.
- Create detailed written specifications, drawings, and tolerance analyses.
- Validate designs to ensure they meet performance and manufacturing standards.
- Communicate technical project statuses clearly across functional teams and management.
