The Apple Services Engineering (ASE) team is seeking extraordinary machine learning engineers and researchers to develop next-generation search features for Apple's devices and platforms. This team powers search functionalities across various Apple services, including the App Store and Apple Music, and is dedicated to innovative breakthroughs in search technology. Engineers will work on secure, end-to-end solutions while maintaining a strong commitment to privacy. The role offers exposure to a diverse range of opportunities within a small, nimble, and cross-functional team.

• MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related subject area
• 2+ years of relevant industry experience
• Strong industry experience with search, classification, regression, recommendation systems, ranking systems, fraud detection, or online advertising
• Knowledge of ML models using Transformers, Large Language Models, Reinforcement Learning, TensorFlow, and PyTorch
• Deep understanding of search and information retrieval fundamentals
• Experience in training and evaluating machine learning models using Python, PyTorch, or TensorFlow
• Experience building big data pipelines with Scala and Spark
• Experience in distributed computing and micro-services architecture
• Familiarity with A/B experimentation and data-driven product development
• Experience leading technical aspects for complex multi-functional projects
• Experience with GoLang is a plus
