Job description
The Workload Identity team at Apple Services Engineering Security is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to enhance security practices related to identity management for software applications and services. This role focuses on creating fundamental security services and addressing identity challenges on a large scale. The engineer will influence security protocols and guide engineering teams in adopting secure practices. Candidates should possess a blend of technical expertise, security knowledge, and experience in large-scale operations.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software development or production operations experience in a large-scale environment
- 5+ years of experience writing production code in Golang
- Proven experience building and operating large scale, highly available, distributed, and fault tolerant systems
- Excellent understanding of operating systems concepts including multi-threading, memory management, networking and storage
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerization
- Knowledge of securing APIs, including input validation, authentication, and authorization mechanisms for RESTful and gRPC APIs
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of policy-based authorization mechanisms and engines
- Knowledge of authentication mechanisms, including OAuth and JWT
- Familiarity with incident response processes
- Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms and protocols for securing data
- Hands-on experience with systems, including the ability to configure and troubleshoot system initialization processes
Responsibilities
- Define, advocate, and drive the adoption of a standardized set of minimum security requirements
- Monitor progress on the implementation of security protocols
- Guide engineering teams in incorporating secure practices and tools into their development processes
- Influence the future of security protocols within the organization
