Job description

We are seeking an engineer to contribute to the future of Safari technology across our platforms. This role involves enhancing the WebKit engine and Apple's frameworks to create a seamless browsing experience and effective APIs for developers. You will engage in all stages of development, from brainstorming to shipping, while collaborating with various teams at Apple. A strong emphasis is placed on creativity, quality craftsmanship, and user experience.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or related field, preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Experience mentoring other engineers
  • Expertise in writing fast, efficient software in Swift, Objective-C, or a C-family programming language
  • Knowledge of UIKit and Swift design patterns
  • Expertise in Xcode developer tools, Instruments, and clang
  • Experience designing APIs for frameworks used by a wide variety of developers
  • Knowledge of advanced application architectures
  • Knowledge of web browsers and web application architectures

Responsibilities

  • Craft new and innovative features for Safari
  • Enhance existing features to improve user experience
  • Participate in brainstorming, prototyping, coding, debugging, and shipping processes
  • Address customer feedback to refine features
  • Collaborate with the WebKit team, iOS application and framework teams, and Apple’s Human Interface group
