Job description
As a Cellular Firmware Engineer, you will be part of a world-class modem team focused on developing and productizing state-of-the-art cellular SoCs. Your role will involve diagnosing and debugging advanced embedded firmware for 5G/4G/multimode cellular technologies. You will collaborate with various product development groups to innovate and push the boundaries of wireless systems. This position requires a strong understanding of cellular technology and the ability to adapt to evolving requirements.
Requirements
- BS degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience is required.
- Strong understanding of 5G and 4G 3GPP standards.
- Competent knowledge of Layer One and Physical Layer control.
- Proficiency in embedded programming languages such as C and C++.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python and JavaScript.
- Experience with embedded real-time software system bring-up, debug, and test.
- Advanced degree in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or data science with 5+ years of relevant experience in the wireless communications industry is preferred.
- Experience in AI/ML technology and familiarity with LLM, RAG, Transformer, Claude, and other AI/ML techniques.
Responsibilities
- Participate in silicon bring-up and feature bring-up.
- Triage a multi-mode L1/PHY firmware architecture.
- Troubleshoot and debug L1/PHY modem firmware issues utilizing AI and automation techniques.
- Develop triaging automation for firmware.
- Optimize L1 and PHY firmware testability and debug capability.
- Run data mining, extraction, and formatting to monitor firmware health and debug efficiency.
