Job description
As a Data Scientist on the Apple Store Online team, you will provide data-driven insights to combat fraud and enhance customer experiences. You will work with engineers and business leaders to develop models and automated solutions that deliver timely alerts and insights. The role requires a strong focus on statistical analysis, machine learning, and advanced analytical methods to solve complex problems. Your contributions will help shape the product roadmap and improve the overall customer journey.
Requirements
- Masters in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Proficiency in data querying using SQL, Spark, or equivalent technologies
- Proficiency in scripting languages for data processing and analysis such as Python, R, or Scala
- At least 3 years of experience working as a Data Scientist
- PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Experience applying LLMs to solve technical problems such as data analysis, data automation, and synthetic data generation
- Excellent product intuition and awareness of customer pain points
Responsibilities
- Provide data-driven insights to fight fraud
- Develop models and evaluate product launches
- Create automated solutions to deliver timely alerts
- Research and develop evaluation methods to address fraud
- Solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems using statistical and machine learning methods
- Design and execute observational and experimental studies of causal inference
- Work with large, complex data sets
- Drive feature evaluation and product roadmap with insights
