Job description
The optical sensing team at Apple is seeking a self-driven individual to design, develop, and launch next-generation optical sensing technologies. This role involves integrating optical sensors into various Apple products and requires strong experience in optics and optical system design. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative sensing solutions that enhance user interaction with devices. Requirements
- Strong background in optical design with foundational knowledge in optical and electrical engineering
- Hands-on experience with optical lab equipment such as light sources, microscopes, and spectrometers
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python and MATLAB for model development and data collection
- Minimum requirement of a bachelor's degree in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience with optical simulation tools such as LightTools, Lumerical, and COMSOL
- Experience supporting volume manufacturing, including test design and failure analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong teamwork abilities and self-motivation to tackle technical challenges
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and launch next-generation optical sensing technologies
- Analyze data to draw conclusions and enhance product design and manufacturability
- Drive failure analysis to improve product performance
- Collaborate with Optical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Reliability Engineers, Test Engineers, Process Engineers, and Software Engineers
- Deliver state-of-the-art sensing solutions that meet user needs
