Job description

As a GNSS Measurement Engine Firmware Engineer, you will be a vital member of Apple's innovative GNSS design team within the Cellular SoC team. The role focuses on defining firmware architecture and developing software for ultra-low-power GNSS systems. You will work on digital signal processing software and infrastructure software, ensuring robust and energy-efficient GNSS receiver design. Your contributions will impact technology that serves hundreds of millions of users worldwide.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • 10 years of embedded software development experience using C, C++, and scripting languages such as MATLAB and Python.
  • 5 years of product development experience in wireless communication, GNSS, or a related industry.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Geomatics is preferred.
  • Familiarity with microprocessors such as ARM, RTOS, and driver development for PHY hardware and peripherals.

Responsibilities

  • Define firmware architecture and document the firmware design.
  • Develop, test, and integrate infrastructure software and digital signal processing software.
  • Perform low-level driver development and hardware bring-up.
  • Implement diagnostics, manufacturing tests, and protocol compliance test software.
  • Develop GNSS measurement engine features such as acquisition, tracking, and jamming mitigation.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
