Job description
In this role at Apple, you will be integral to a chip design effort that impacts the delivery of functional products to millions of customers. Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience
- Academic or industry experience in CPU performance architecture, micro-architecture design, and performance analysis
- Experience working in a performance modeling environment
- Proficiency in C/C++
- Proficiency in scripting languages including Perl and Python
- Knowledge of common performance benchmarks and workloads
- Knowledge of OS internals and compiler technology is a plus
Responsibilities
- Architect cutting-edge CPU performance features in collaboration with RTL and implementation teams
- Identify and devise solutions for hardware and software performance bottlenecks
- Develop advanced CPU performance simulator and associated infrastructure
- Develop new performance exploration and correlation tools and processes
- Collaborate with software and system teams to identify, profile, and optimize critical workloads for CPU performance and power
- Correlate performance of RTL with CPU performance simulator
