Job description
We are looking for a UEFI BIOS Engineer to join our team focused on developing next-generation server platforms. This role involves enhancing the reliability, serviceability, and security of Apple datacenter systems. You will collaborate with skilled engineers and work on designing UEFI BIOS firmware architecture. Your contributions will be vital in delivering features that ensure strong infrastructure performance.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience.
- 6+ years of experience as a UEFI BIOS or Firmware Engineer with UEFI BIOS experience.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++, as well as scripting in Bash and Python.
- Understanding of AMI Aptio V and EDK2 development, along with industry-standard specifications like ACPI, IPMI, PCIe, SMBIOS, and UEFI.
- Expertise in server platform interfaces including PCIe, I2C/I3C, SPI, PMBus, UART, GPIO, PECI/APML, and Ethernet controllers.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across hardware, firmware, and software boundaries.
Responsibilities
- Design the UEFI BIOS firmware architecture.
- Collaborate with ODM to develop robust BIOS solutions.
- Ensure the BIOS is secure against potential threats.
- Work on platform enablement in collaboration with BMC.
- Anticipate, identify, and resolve technical and schedule challenges proactively.
