Job description

The AVKit Engineering team at Apple is seeking a Senior Engineer to design and build media playback UI across various Apple products. This role involves implementing media application frameworks that support playback and editing of audiovisual media. The team focuses on enhancing user experiences in applications like Safari, TV, and Music. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in media domains and excellent communication skills.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of programming experience, preferably in Objective-C and Swift
  • Deep knowledge of Operating System design and concepts
  • Proficiency in developing with Cocoa or other application frameworks
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • Expertise in triaging and resolving complex bugs
  • Excellent understanding of optimization and performance issues across OS software layers

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement new features and UI APIs for media playback
  • Collaborate closely with other engineering and design teams to implement system media UIs
  • Help build innovative media playback experiences across Apple products
  • Clearly explain advanced concepts to team members and stakeholders
