JobsWireless SoC Design Engineer
Job description
Apple's wireless silicon development team is seeking a skilled engineer to contribute to the design of energy-efficient wireless System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions. The role involves collaborating with a vertically integrated engineering team across various domains, including RF/Analog architecture and design, VLSI/RTL design, and firmware engineering. The ideal candidate will engage in hardware/software partitioning discussions and ensure successful SoC integration from concept to silicon bring-up. This position offers a fast-paced and challenging environment that encourages collaboration across functional areas.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 3+ years of industry experience.
- Proficiency in defining ASIC microarchitecture to meet functional requirements while managing performance, power, and area trade-offs.
- Knowledge of the ASIC design flow, including System Verilog RTL implementation, Lint, CDC, RDC, Synthesis, and STA.
- Expertise in design domains such as memory subsystems, bus interfaces, CPU integration, and high-speed/low-speed peripherals.
- Understanding of cross clock-domain design principles and associated CDC requirements.
- Familiarity with ASIC low power design techniques and test methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop microarchitecture and RTL for a System-on-Chip (SoC) IP design.
- Engage in hardware/software partitioning discussions with software and firmware teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful SoC integration.
- Support design verification and validation across all phases from concept to silicon bring-up.
- Work closely with physical design, DFT, and CAD teams to optimize performance, power, and area targets.
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
