Job description

The Optical Engineering team within Camera Core Technology Engineering is looking for a Simulation Development Engineer. This role involves developing advanced modeling and simulation solutions for Optical Imaging Systems, providing early feedback to product design, and enabling innovative simulation pipelines. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and be passionate about solving complex problems. This position requires a proactive approach and strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Optics, Imaging Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant field of study.
  • 3+ years of related work or academic experience.
  • Programming experience in Python, Matlab, and/or C/C++/C#.
  • Understanding of imaging systems.
  • Ability to model and simulate optical systems using Zemax, Code V, etc.
  • Experience with Cloud Computing.
  • Fluent in both oral and written English.

Responsibilities

  • Develop state-of-the-art end-to-end modeling and simulation solutions.
  • Facilitate early feedback to Apple product design.
  • Enable novel simulation pipelines for future technologies.
  • Validate, apply, and scale up simulation tools.
  • Present ideas and build consensus with teammates.
