Job description

The Camera Optical Engineer will be part of the Camera Hardware Engineering group at Apple, focusing on the research, design, development, testing, and qualification of camera hardware. This role involves developing and supporting custom lens design and development for Apple products. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Optical Science, Optical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related field.
  • Master's or PhD with relevant industry experience in lens design fundamentals.
  • Experience in lens design metrology and integration.
  • Experience in lens design tolerance and stray light analysis.
  • Experience in lens characterization methodology and instrumentation.
  • Proficiency using an optical software package such as ZEMAX, CODE V, FRED, or LightTool.
  • Working knowledge of optomechanics is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support custom lens design and development.
  • Perform comprehensive optical and image quality characterization of the lens and camera module.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance design processes and outcomes.
