Job description
The Haptic Engineering team at Apple is focused on developing innovative haptic solutions for products like the iPhone and Apple Watch. Requirements
- Minimum requirement of a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Familiarity with Abaqus, ANSYS, COMSOL, or other FEA tools, with a preference for Abaqus
- Experience in analysis involving non-linear materials and boundary conditions
- Strong engineering fundamentals in solid mechanics, dynamics, and fracture mechanics
- Proficiency with statistical data analysis and data visualization
- Experience with 3D CAD, with a preference for NX
- Team-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Project experience in consumer electronics product design
- Design and/or research experience with haptic technologies
- Experience with automating FEA model creation workflows
- Experience using AI tools to accelerate scripting
- Proficiency with data analysis tools such as JMP, MATLAB, and Excel
- High volume mass production experience
- Experience in material modeling and digital image correlation
- Experience with commercial preprocessing software such as Hypermesh, Simlab, and ANSA
Responsibilities
- Enhance understanding of complex physics through accurate FEA modeling
- Empower the design team to uncover design weaknesses during concept development
- Identify root causes of engineering failures when physical measurement is challenging
- Find innovative solutions within tight design constraints
