Job description

The Device Management Quality Engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer in Test to enhance the quality and reliability of device management products. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing automated tests while working closely with software engineers and project managers. The position requires a mix of manual and automated testing, focusing on both large-scale projects and detailed UI elements. The team values creativity and innovation to achieve engineering excellence.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience writing and triaging automated software tests, including unit, regression, functional, and stress tests
  • Experience writing code in Python, Objective-C, or Swift to test APIs, SDKs, and frameworks
  • Experience with XCTest and Xcode
  • Experience developing test plans, assessing risk, filing appropriate bugs, and consolidating bug reports
  • Experience driving the development and deployment of relevant testing tools and infrastructure
  • Meticulous, analytical, and creative problem-solver with a passion for quality processes
  • Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose resolutions
  • Ability to work independently, raise issues, and take corrective action

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement automated tests for device management products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects like Classroom, Apple Configurator, and the Remote Management framework
  • Ensure the quality and reliability of the next generation of Apple's operating systems
