Job description
Apple is seeking an Optical Network Engineer to join their Global Network Services team, which supports the company's extensive global backbone and internet peering infrastructure. The role involves leading and executing large-scale optical network projects from planning to deployment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in optical networking and project management, as well as the ability to develop automation tools to enhance network efficiency. This position requires a focus on customer experience and technical leadership within a dynamic team environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years in a project engineering or lead role on large-scale network deployments.
- In-depth experience with one or more optical transport technologies including optical transponders and transceivers.
- Solid understanding of dark fiber characterization, analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Experience planning, deployment, and support of large-scale optical transport networks.
- At least 4 years of experience in an optical networking related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining one or more programming languages such as Python or C++.
