Job description

The Camera Optical Engineer will be part of the Camera Hardware Engineering group at Apple, focusing on the research, design, development, testing, and qualification of camera hardware. This role involves developing and supporting custom lens design and development for Apple products. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Optical Science, Optical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related field.
  • Experience in lens design fundamentals.
  • Master's or PhD with a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in lens design metrology and integration.
  • Experience in lens design tolerance and stray light analysis.
  • Experience in lens characterization methodology and instrumentation.
  • Proficiency using an optical software package such as ZEMAX, CODE V, FRED, or LightTool.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive optical and image quality characterization of the lens and camera module.
  • High energy, multi-tasker, and resourceful problem solver with the ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of optomechanics is a plus.

Responsibilities
