Job description

The Mechanical Quality Engineer at Apple plays a crucial role in defining product cosmetic specifications and manufacturing quality control methods. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or Quality Control.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, with a Master's preferred.
  • Experience in developing process quality plans and conducting supplier quality audits.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical quality and reliability concepts.
  • Experience with measurement systems development and evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with multi-functional teams to evaluate design and processes at the concept phase.
  • Develop measurement technologies, control strategies, and manufacturing methods to achieve ambitious specifications.
  • Implement cutting-edge quality inspection tools to evaluate cosmetic and dimensional part characteristics.
  • Compile and evaluate data to determine appropriate limits and variables for specifications.
  • Lead activities to balance quality with scalable yields.
  • Coordinate all Quality Engineering functions for a program, serving as project manager at supplier locations.
  • Establish audit procedures to ensure consistency with quality standards.
  • Evaluate and communicate yields of new and existing processes.
  • Drive corrective actions with internal and external team members.
  • Present quality readiness and performance to cross-functional and executive audiences.
  • Travel internationally to supplier sites, approximately 25% of the time.
