JobsWireless SoC Design Engineer
Job description
Join Apple's wireless silicon development team, focusing on energy-efficient design and innovative technologies that enhance user experiences. The role involves working within a vertically integrated engineering team that spans various domains, including RF/Analog architecture and VLSI/RTL design. Candidates should thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy collaboration across different functional areas. This position emphasizes the development of microarchitecture and RTL for System-on-Chip (SoC) designs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Skilled in defining ASIC microarchitecture to meet functional requirements while managing performance, power, and area trade-offs.
- Knowledgeable about the ASIC design flow, including System Verilog RTL implementation, Lint, CDC, RDC, Synthesis and STA.
- Expertise in design domains such as memory subsystems, bus interfaces, CPU integration, DMA engines, and high-speed/low-speed peripherals.
- Thorough understanding of cross clock-domain design principles and associated CDC requirements.
- Familiarity with ASIC low power design techniques and test methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop microarchitecture and RTL for a System-on-Chip (SoC) IP design, aligning with specified functional requirements.
- Engage in hardware/software partitioning discussions with software and firmware teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful SoC integration, supporting design verification and validation.
- Work closely with physical design, DFT, and CAD teams to optimize performance, power, and area targets.
- Ensure design quality and maintainability throughout the development process.
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
