Job description

Join Apple's Wireless Connectivity Silicon team as an Embedded Firmware Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in developing firmware for System on a Chip (SoC) solutions. This position emphasizes radio and PHY bring up, RF calibrations, and the implementation of signal processing algorithms. You will collaborate closely with product software and manufacturing teams to ensure successful productization of wireless silicon. Your work will directly impact the delivery of functional wireless products to millions of customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong background in embedded firmware development using C and assembly languages.
  • Familiarity with ARM CPUs and its internals.
  • Good understanding of embedded wireless communication systems and RF performance metrics.
  • Experience with low-level hardware interfaces and bare-metal software development.
  • Fluency in using lab equipment such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
  • Proficient in at least one scripting language such as Python, Perl, or Tcl.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and implement embedded firmware for SoC bring up and wireless connectivity enablement.
  • Work closely with product software and manufacturing teams to enable RF and PHY calibrations.
  • Implement signal processing algorithms and performance tuning.
  • Develop diagnostics, manufacturing tests, and protocol compliance software.
