Job description

The Software Engineer role focuses on building innovative Generative AI experiences using state-of-the-art NLP and machine learning technologies. The team is responsible for the research, development, and deployment of ML/NLP technologies that enhance Apple Intelligence on devices and private compute cloud. This position offers opportunities for collaboration across various engineering teams and emphasizes the importance of hands-on experience in NLP and software engineering. The ideal candidate will contribute to productizing Generative AI features for Apple while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on NLP experience in conjunction with Software Engineering.
  • Experience writing production software in Swift, C/C++, Obj-C, or Python.
  • Good machine learning fundamentals.
  • B.S, M.S. or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in using open-source ML toolkits, such as PyTorch.
  • Hands-on experience with building NLP/Generative AI applications.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Translate expertise in NLP and ML into impactful applications for users.
  • Collaborate closely with several engineering teams at Apple on machine learning and NLP projects.
  • Engage in text processing and empirical experimentation for building state-of-the-art NLP models.
