Job description
The Apple Camera Architecture team is looking for a motivated leader to define future camera hardware requirements for a range of products. This role involves collaboration across various teams to ensure optimal camera performance and features. The focus is on integrating advanced camera hardware solutions with cutting-edge software to deliver exceptional imaging experiences. The ideal candidate will engage in system analysis and support the design and validation of optical systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Imaging Science or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in camera technologies and optical science.
- Familiarity with optics, camera calibration, computer vision, image quality metrics, image sensor fundamentals, and image processing pipeline.
- Experience in defining camera metrics and specifications based on product goals and user studies.
- Understanding of important camera metrics and design tradeoffs.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed system analysis and tradeoff evaluations.
- Derive camera and camera system requirements from use cases.
- Characterize and simulate optical systems to aid design and validation.
- Collaborate closely with camera hardware, product hardware, algorithm, and software teams.
- Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional partners to recommend solutions.
