The Senior Silicon Validation Engineer role at Google Cloud focuses on shaping the future of AI/ML hardware acceleration through the development and validation of custom silicon solutions. The position is part of the Chip Innovation and Infrastructure team, which manages the entire silicon life-cycle from development to production. The engineer will leverage their expertise to ensure the performance and reliability of complex digital designs, particularly in the context of Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). This role directly impacts critical hardware domains, including power features and high-speed interfaces.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in silicon validation, bringing up, characterizing, and qualifying silicon.
• 5 years of experience developing firmware, embedded software, or functional tests for silicon validation.
• Experience with ASIC interfaces, memory systems, or power management system features and ASICs.

• Own the bringup and NPI phases of the silicon development life-cycle and enable custom silicon products within platform infrastructure systems.
• Integrate and validate complex hardware/software designs in pre-silicon through functional bringup.
• Develop detailed test plans based on design specifications and coordinate with a cross-functional team.
• Perform long-term system characterization and debug, providing feedback to improve features like power management quality and performance.
• Design, develop, operate, and maintain software-based validation tests.
