Job description
The WW Materials Program Manager at Apple plays a vital role in ensuring operational success within the Procurement organization. This strategic supply chain position focuses on materials readiness, availability, and visibility, while collaborating with Contract Manufacturers and internal teams. The role involves managing the Clear-to-Build process and developing allocation strategies for constrained materials. Successful candidates will have a passion for complex supply chain operations and a strong ability to influence and partner with various stakeholders.
Requirements
- 4+ years of relevant experience in Operations, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Supply Chain or a related area.
- BS/BA in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or a related field.
- Ability to problem-solve and influence others through relationships and data.
- Advanced modeling and predictive analytical skills; 'Advanced User' of MS Excel with deep understanding of Excel techniques.
- Professional experience with complex supply chain, technical expertise, or prior OEM management experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to management required.
- International experience and Mandarin, Japanese, or Vietnamese language skills a plus.
- MBA or Master's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Operations Management preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide visibility to materials supply, highlighting projected coverage and constraints through Clear-to-Build management.
- Partner with the Contract Manufacturer to develop a model that incorporates specific supply chain and materials flow details.
- Create allocation strategies for constrained materials by developing models across factories, programs, and lines of business.
- Challenge and influence Demand Planning and Strategic Sourcing teams to improve allocation and maximize revenue.
- Identify excess and obsolete materials risk, recommend critical course of action to leadership, and own efforts to mitigate liability.
- Develop a strategic roadmap for the phase-out of obsolete parts and new product materials.
- Prepare and communicate critical materials updates at weekly Sustaining Executive Program reviews.
- Maintain executive reports and summaries, providing accurate and timely data to leadership on a weekly basis.
- Ensure the logistical flow of materials necessary to meet production schedules, inventory control requirements, and ongoing material line support.
