The team values engineers eager to learn and develop their skills across various engineering fields. This role involves collaborating with multi-functional teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences. The engineer will balance design, manufacturability, cost, reliability, and performance in their work.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering disciplines.
  • 2+ years demonstrated ability in mechanical design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling systems and workflow.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Experience with consumer electronics products.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers.
  • Demonstrated ability in plastic and metal part design including material selection.
  • Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Experience with statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing.
  • Experience with component modules such as connectors, batteries, electronics packaging, and PCBAs.
  • A passion for functional design and an appreciation for detail.
  • Flexibility and comfort working in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment with self-motivation to identify and drive resolution on design issues across multiple projects.
  • The ability to articulate design issues in quantitative terms both verbally and with documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technology and generate concepts for integrated hardware solutions.
  • Conduct detailed design, analysis, and testing through mass production of complex assemblies.
  • Design and engineer products that meet the requirements of internal customers.
  • Balance competing needs across design, manufacturability, cost, reliability, and performance.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
