Job description
In this role within the Battery Engineering group, you will focus on designing and developing innovative battery monitoring and management units for next-generation consumer electronics. The team is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of battery technology and improving product experiences for customers worldwide. You will collaborate with various product development groups at Apple to create integrated designs that deliver enhanced performance. This position requires a blend of electronics design skills and a passion for invention and self-challenge.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field of study
- Experience in analog and/or power electronics design
- Experience in electronic circuit design and development with mixed signal systems
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field of study is preferred
- Background in Power Electronics, Battery Management, Portable Consumer Electronics, Medical Electronics, or Automotive Electronics
- Experience with high volume manufacturing
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Shell, Unix, or MATLAB for test automation and data analysis is desired
- Understanding of the silicon manufacturing process and semiconductor devices is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Design and develop battery monitoring units and battery management units for consumer electronic products
- Design electronic circuits and produce detailed design analyses
- Select electronic parts and integrated circuits to meet performance targets
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop custom parts as needed
- Design test methodologies to verify battery management unit designs
