The Senior Engineering Program Manager will lead a large cross-functional project aimed at enhancing the experience of over 1 billion Apple customers. This role focuses on building search infrastructure and delivering innovative search products using advanced AI technologies, including Large Language Models. The program manager will work closely with deep learning and AI engineers to drive consensus across teams and ensure timely execution of project goals. The position requires a strong ability to manage risks, communicate effectively, and advocate for user experience and quality.

• 8+ years of experience in driving large scale program building machine learning powered products
• 3+ years experience bringing a product from concept to completion, ideally working on machine-learning features and/or sophisticated backend and front-end systems
• Deep understanding of software development for machine-learned products and services
• Excellent program management skills including program structuring and managing multiple work streams interdependently
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or related field and equivalent experience
• 8+ years experience in delivering search and generative answer quality improvements is a plus

• Drive consensus across multiple groups with varying opinions and needs.
• Create and manage project schedules with clear dependencies and critical paths.
• Proactively identify and manage risks, close gaps, and re-plan as needed.
• Provide clear, timely, and objective communication, including regular program status updates.
• Lead measurements to help the team understand and measure success, including quality and usage scale.
• Advocate for user and company values when leading the team to convergence on key open questions.
• Lead early feedback collection from internal dogfooding during feature convergence.
• Reflect on how the team operates and propose new ways to enable more effective processes.
