The Apple Services Engineering team is seeking talented software engineers to enhance the Apps platform. This team is responsible for building secure, high-performance systems that support a massive scale of applications and services. Engineers will work on developing custom software, server-side systems, and APIs for various Apple services. • At least 4+ years of current and industry experience in designing, implementing, and supporting highly scalable backend systems and web services.
• In-depth Java programming experience.
• Deep understanding and strong hands-on experience in multithreading, networking, HTTP, and REST APIs.
• Confidence with SQL databases like Oracle and NoSQL databases like Cassandra.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, data and metadata management, and scalability challenges in distributed systems.
• Excellent debugging, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
• Diligent attention to detail.
• BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, EE, or equivalent industry experience.
• Passion and prior experience designing and implementing outstanding large distributed systems.
• Experience building Agentic systems in production.

• Build and update the Apps platform.
• Take end-to-end ownership of features and drive them to completion.
• Advocate and drive for performance optimization, automation, and unit tests.
• Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and share ideas.
• Develop prototypes and present proposals to teams.
• Check metrics to evaluate the performance of systems.
