Job description
The Apple Services Engineering team is seeking talented software engineers to enhance the Apps platform. This team is responsible for building secure, high-performance systems that support a massive scale of applications and services. Engineers will work on developing custom software, server-side systems, and APIs for various Apple services. The role requires a passion for innovation and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Requirements
- At least 4+ years of current and industry experience in designing, implementing, and supporting highly scalable backend systems and web services.
- In-depth Java programming experience.
- Deep understanding and strong hands-on experience in multithreading, networking, HTTP, and REST APIs.
- Confidence with SQL databases like Oracle and NoSQL databases like Cassandra.
- Deep understanding of data modeling, data and metadata management, and scalability challenges in distributed systems.
- Excellent debugging, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
- Diligent attention to detail.
- BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, EE, or equivalent industry experience.
- Passion and prior experience designing and implementing outstanding large distributed systems.
- Experience building Agentic systems in production.
Responsibilities
- Build and update the Apps platform.
- Take end-to-end ownership of features and drive them to completion.
- Advocate and drive for performance optimization, automation, and unit tests.
- Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and share ideas.
- Develop prototypes and present proposals to teams.
- Check metrics to evaluate the performance of systems.
