Job description

Join the Apple Information Systems and Technology group as a staff-level Java Software Engineer, where you will collaborate with various teams and senior leadership to enhance Apple's operational systems. You will work on diverse projects ranging from apple.com to software for Apple Stores and data centers. Your role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions that improve employee efficiency and customer experiences. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and possesses strong communication skills.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional work experience.
  • 8+ years of proven experience developing software in a professional capacity.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and shipping high-scale, high-performance, highly available, fault-tolerant, and secure cloud-based distributed systems.
  • 5+ years of experience using relational and NoSQL databases, including mastery in schema design and query optimization.
  • 4+ years of experience with Java, including mastery in concurrency and performance optimization techniques.
  • Mastery in OOP principles, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
  • Track record of leading software projects as a tech lead while mentoring senior-level software engineers.
  • Comfortable using CI/CD tools for building, testing, deploying, and releasing containerized software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, develop, test, document, improve, and maintain code primarily in Java.
  • Participate in all aspects of projects from planning to design to implementation and future iterations.
  • Lead software projects and collaborate with internal and external partners.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Explore ways to improve how Apple operates and enhance customer experiences.
