Job description

This position is part of Apple's Infrastructure Services DC Operations Engineering team, focusing on the design and management of projects related to data center critical infrastructure. The role requires a motivated self-starter with technical expertise in electrical and mechanical systems. The individual will act as a liaison between design and construction teams while supporting day-to-day operations. The main focus is on ensuring safety, standardization, and operational efficiency within data centers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in mission-critical environments, such as data centers or hospitals.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing electrical systems for data centers.
  • Hands-on experience with critical power infrastructure including substations and generators.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as NFPA 70E/B, NETA, and IEEE.
  • Skilled in reading construction drawings for electrical, mechanical, and plumbing disciplines.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with strong analytical abilities.
  • Experience in performing Short Circuit, Arc Flash, and Coordination studies using software like ETAP or SKM.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and management of projects and materials for data center infrastructure.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and integrate safety into project designs.
  • Develop robust operational procedures and champion consistency across data center operations.
  • Build standardization programs and train facilities personnel.
  • Coordinate with vendors and oversee project management tasks.
  • Conduct safety reviews and inspections to support job safety analyses.
  • Monitor real-time power data and analyze events to prevent unplanned outages.
  • Lead root cause analysis investigations for incident management.
