Job description
This role at Apple involves leading a team of engineers in support of new product development and sustaining operations for the iPhone brand. The focus is on driving technical operational issues related to optical sensing modules and ensuring contract manufacturer readiness for high volume production. The position requires a hands-on approach in factory processes and strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with executive leadership. The successful candidate will also be responsible for mentoring other engineering groups and managing complex manufacturing engineering functions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in engineering and manufacturing operations.
- 3 to 5 years of people management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- Proven technical skills in wafer level, component, PCBA, module assembly, and process integration.
- Ability to travel internationally 25%-35%.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for manufacturing operations at multiple vendors and sites.
- Drive contract manufacturer preparation for pre-production builds.
- Develop and implement new technologies to improve production quality and efficiency.
- Provide early and ongoing manufacturing involvement to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Act as lead engineer on various projects and participate in project planning.
