Job description
Apple is seeking Product Design Engineers to join their elite Audio Product Design team, focusing on enhancing the Airpods experience. This role involves conceiving, designing, testing, and bringing innovative audio products into production. The team collaborates closely with various departments, ensuring meticulous integration of advanced components. The position may require some international travel, approximately 10% of the time.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in product design or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Demonstrated ability in plastic and metal part design.
- 3-D CAD skills.
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Some experience with basic finite element analysis and general mechanical engineering analysis.
- Flexibility and comfort working in a quickly changing environment.
- Ability to travel internationally (10%+).
- Experience working with overseas manufacturers.
- Consumer electronics design experience.
- Integration of wireless antenna (GSM, GPS, Wifi) into mechanical enclosures.
- Experience with component modules such as audio drivers, batteries, and power supplies.
- Design of audio subsystems including microphones, speakers, and receivers.
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conceive and design innovative audio products.
- Test and solve problems related to product design.
- Bring products into production while ensuring quality and performance.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams including Industrial Design and Audio Engineering.
- Integrate advanced components into new products.
- Adapt designs based on feedback and changing requirements.
