Job description

The Senior Engineering Project Manager will play a crucial role in the IS&T's Services Technology team, focusing on building advanced IT systems for Apple TV Studio & Production and Music operations. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to oversee multiple major projects from inception to delivery. The role emphasizes defining SDLC processes and ensuring high-quality delivery of enterprise web applications. The successful candidate will also mentor other EPMs and foster a culture of accountability within the team.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as an Engineering Project Manager, successfully delivering complex, cross-functional projects.
  • 5+ years of experience successfully delivering Agile projects.
  • 5+ years working in complex, highly integrated, cross-functional environments.
  • Knowledge of containerization concepts such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Experience with DevOps process automation using tools like Terraform or Pulumi.
  • Experience with continuous integration and testing frameworks.
  • Experience working with distributed, global, and offshore teams.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring systems such as Dynatrace or DataDog.
  • Strong technical understanding of modern architectural patterns, including microservices and cloud platforms.
  • Solid proficiency in working with SQL or NoSQL Databases.
  • Familiarity with full-stack development concepts, including backend technologies like Java or Node.js, and frontend frameworks like React.js.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage several major projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of Apple enterprise web applications.
  • Define and set the processes and procedures for the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate program risks and remove team impediments.
  • Drive quality across all project phases, from requirements gathering to testing.
  • Mentor other contractor EPMs and project teams to foster a culture of high performance.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships and influence across the organization.
