The role is for an experienced systems/chip test development engineer within Apple's Silicon Technologies group. You will be responsible for designing and manufacturing high-performance, power-efficient processors and system-on-chip (SoC) solutions. The position involves coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and external suppliers to ensure quality and availability of test hardware. Your expertise will contribute to troubleshooting and resolving complex issues in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience in delivering semiconductor manufacturing test solutions.
  • Deep understanding of SOC architectures.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and electronic engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience in deploying and solving test solutions in manufacturing sites.
  • Proficiency in programming with scripting languages such as Python and Perl, as well as high-level languages like C#/C/C++ or Visual Basic with .NET framework.
  • Expertise in handling and resolving complex problems associated with overseas manufacturing.
  • Knowledge about SOC debug, validation, and test group interface, as well as understanding SoC digital, mixed signal, and PMIC products.
  • Experience in software development to effectively communicate and drive software and firmware teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and maintain attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop System Level Test (SLT) test programs from NPI to HVM for Apple SOCs.
  • Lead overall deployment of SLT at the OSAT's, working closely with GSM and test engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with Apple internal test teams, product engineering, QA, and product management for issue diagnosis and resolution.
  • Manage suppliers for hardware deliveries of tool installation and customized system-level test accessories.
  • Support tool qualification activities with tool vendors, OSAT, Apple TE, and QA teams, which may involve domestic and international travel.
  • Evaluate new product's testability and operability on the SLT while coordinating with internal and external teams.
  • Drive multiple suppliers and contract manufacturers, hosting regular tracking meetings and publishing reports.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
