Job description
Apple's Wireless System and Compliance Engineering team is seeking a Systems Engineer to enhance connectivity performance across various wireless technologies including WLAN, Bluetooth, GPS, and UWB. This role involves evaluating wireless technology and integrating it into products, ensuring compliance with industry standards. The engineer will identify hardware and software optimization opportunities while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional wireless experiences. A strong background in RF and antenna systems is essential for success in this position.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant work experience.
- Industry experience in development and characterization of RF/Antenna systems for wireless technologies.
- Solid understanding of wireless system concepts and performance evaluation in at least one technology such as 802.11ax, 802.11ac, Wi-Fi 6E, GNSS, UWB, or Bluetooth.
- Hands-on modeling experience using at least one simulation tool like MATLAB, HFSS, CST, ANSOFT, or equivalent.
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant work experience.
- Working experience with RF characterization, antenna design and testing, anechoic chambers, and RF test equipment.
- Proficiency in MATLAB for system-level modeling and simulation.
Responsibilities
- Drive connectivity performance across WLAN, Bluetooth, GPS, and UWB technologies.
- Translate carrier, regulatory, and industry requirements into system specifications.
- Identify hardware and software optimization opportunities and drive their adoption.
- Champion product quality in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Evaluate and integrate wireless technology into Apple's product portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with industry conformance requirements for WLAN, Bluetooth, and GNSS technologies.
