Job description
This role is part of Apple's Data Center Network Security Engineering team, focusing on designing and securing large-scale cloud and data center network infrastructures. The team collaborates closely with the SDI team to influence the design of next-generation security products and operationalize innovative security solutions. The position requires a strong passion for network security and the ability to protect hybrid environments through advanced security controls and best practices. Candidates will work across on-premises data centers and multi-cloud architectures.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in building, securing, and deploying large scale data center network and cloud environments.
- CISSP or equivalent certification(s).
- Extensive understanding of public and private cloud networking security architecture and compute virtualization technologies.
- Experience in OVS, Container, and Kube networking.
- Sophisticated knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, security protocols, and large scale network features.
- Deep technical background in network-layer security mechanisms.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the SDI team to influence the design of next-generation security products and features.
- Operationalize innovative security solutions that power Apple's hyperscale network infrastructure.
- Apply advanced network security controls across on-prem, cloud, and multi-cloud deployments.
- Drive ideas from inception to implementation in network security.
- Demonstrate technical presentation and communication skills to articulate concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
