Job description
This role at Apple focuses on designing precision assembly and measurement processes for products. The engineer will be responsible for researching and developing new technologies to solve complex assembly and automation challenges. The position requires collaboration with third-party suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure the successful implementation of automated solutions. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering role with automation equipment.
- Strong work experience in precision assembly, inspection, and automation equipment.
- Knowledge of machine qualification, calibration, and capability analysis.
- Experience with GD&T principles and design of experiments.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated and semi-automated solutions based on engineering principles.
- Provide direction and mentorship to third-party machine suppliers and contract manufacturers.
- Create Request for Quotation/Proposal (RFQ/RFP) documents for automated equipment.
- Drive machine qualification including process capability and Gage Repeatability/Reproducibility.
- Run equipment experiments to assess machine capability and performance.
