Job description
This role is part of a premier design team at Apple, focusing on the architecture, design, implementation, and integration of the baseband system for all Apple products. The position requires collaboration with various engineering groups and a strong understanding of computer system architecture and digital design. The team is responsible for the digital and power management domain of wireless chipsets from concept to product announcement. Candidates will engage in a diverse range of tasks that require creativity and problem-solving skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required.
- Strong electrical engineering fundamentals are necessary.
- Experience with schematic capture, layout design, and review is essential.
- Candidates should have strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with mobile platform system design and high-volume consumer electronics design is required.
- Familiarity with voltage regulators, LDO, and switch mode power supplies (SMPS) is needed.
- Experience with high-speed and low-speed digital interfaces such as PCIe, SPMI, I2C, and UART is required.
- Bench-level design verification experience with high-speed oscilloscopes is necessary.
- Signal and power integrity simulation experience with tools like Matlab, PowerSI, SIwave, and HFSS is required.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement the baseband system architecture for Apple products.
- Collaborate proactively with multi-functional engineering groups.
- Manage the digital and power management domain of wireless chipsets.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the entire product landscape outside of wireless design.
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration with teams such as Apple SoC, battery, and sensors.
