Job description
The ASIC Digital architect will play a crucial role in the Touch Technology team at Apple, focusing on designing and launching advanced touch solutions for products like the iPhone and iPad. This position requires a strong background in digital design and architecture, particularly in the context of touch and sensing ASICs. The team emphasizes collaboration and innovation to create the best multi-touch user experience. The architect will work cross-functionally to ensure that designs meet high-level user requirements and integrate seamlessly with overall product architecture.
Requirements
- BS degree and a minimum of 20 years relevant industry experience
- Experience leading chip architecture and/or digital design, preferably in touch or communications
- Strong electrical engineering background in embedded system design, including ASIC microarchitecture and SoC architecture
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Verilog, or similar simulation and design tools
- Ph.D. and a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Architect touch sensing systems and the ASICs required to realize them
- Analyze applications to create cost and power optimized digital designs for touch and sensing ASICs
- Develop high-level models of proposed solutions and create detailed specifications of requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify critical design interactions with overall products
- Lead the development and launch of high volume IC designs
- Oversee IC bring-up and debug processes
