Job description
The Senior Engineer at Claris International Inc., an Apple company, will lead the technical direction and architecture for data platforms and client-facing solutions. This role requires a combination of database architecture expertise and hands-on delivery to ensure timely and quality project execution. The engineer will work closely with Server teams and stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective database architectures. The focus is on delivering mission-critical solutions that enhance client success while fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 8 years of experience in database or data engineering roles.
- Experience designing scalable architectures across Server, Client, WebDirect, APIs, and cloud or on-premises deployments.
- Extensive hands-on experience with the FileMaker platform (Server, Pro, WebDirect, Data API).
- Experience with modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid deployment models.
- Knowledge of C++.
- Background in enterprise-scale database performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience with database security frameworks, compliance standards (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA), and audit requirements.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities.
- Strong conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
- Drive the technical direction and architecture for robust data platforms and client-facing solutions.
- Translate client requirements into scalable and secure technical designs.
- Own the end-to-end technical lifecycle of client-facing database solutions.
- Ensure that every schema, data model, and pipeline is designed for long-term operability, security, and performance.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions for production databases.
- Reduce technical debt and improve system reliability.
